Description
Goal: To advance the kingdom of God by creating disciples who make disciples on the University of Minnesota Football team.
During my time as a Gopher football player, Athletes in Action played an integral role in my walk with Christ. Within our discipleship groups and amongst the team, I witnessed the evident hand of God guiding us as we learned what it meant to live a life fully surrendered to Him. Fueled by a desire to continue mentoring our teammates, my former teammate Josh Aune and I merged our previous groups and continued discipling through an 8-week study in the book of Genesis.
This comprehensive study explores the essence of human existence and the intricate relationship between humanity and God. Week 1 initiates the journey by delving into the profound concept of being "Made Good," offering an in-depth examination of the foundational elements of creation and the inherent goodness within it. Subsequent weeks unfold with insights into pivotal themes: "Made in God's Image," unraveling the significance and implications of being created in the image of God; "Made to Rest and Work," illustrating the balance between rest and labor as ordained by God; and "Made for Relationships," examining the importance and dynamics of human connections that God has called us to. As the study progresses, it ventures into the consequences of the Fall on various aspects of human existence, dissecting its impact on relationships, human actions, ambitions, and ultimately leading to Jesus, God's provision for our sin. Each week of this study serves as a compass, illuminating God's covenant relationship with mankind and the power of the cross.
